On December 21, 2023, a meeting of the Academic Council was held at M. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
The results of the scientific, organizational and financial activities of the institute in 2023 were summed up, and plans for 2024 were discussed. In 2023, the Institute carried out research within the framework of 8 grant projects and 2 scientific and technological progress. 6 applications have been submitted for current competitions for 2024-2026 (Zhas Galym, grant funding and grant funding for young scientists). The International Conference of Young Scientists “Fundamental and Applied Research in the Field of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology” was successfully held, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the founding of M. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, 5 employees received the title of associate professor, 5 people entered PhD- doctoral studies.
In his speech, the General Director of the IMBB, Professor Sharipov, cited information from the report of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the RK Sayasat Nurbek on the results achieved by the Ministry in 2023. In particular, in accordance with the Concept for the Development of Higher Education and Science in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029, funding for science was increased (640 billion tenge for 2023-2025), branches of 6 leading foreign universities were opened, a new law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On science and technology policy” has been developed, a lot of work has been done to expand the use of the Kazakh language in the information space, new technologies, etc.
At the end of the meeting of the Academic Council, the General Director of the IMBB, Professor Sharipov expressed gratitude to all employees of the Institute for the work done, the results achieved, and wished success and new achievements in the coming year.
