Dear colleagues!

The M.A. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry turns 40 years old in 2023.

The Institute was established in 1983 in order to develop modern areas of biology and biotechnology in Kazakhstan on the basis of resolutions of the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR and the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.

The founder and first director of the Institute was an outstanding scientist and organizer of science, President of the Academy of sciences of the Kazakh SSR – Murat Abenovich Aitkhozhin. Today, the Institute of molecular biology and bochemistry bears his name and is one of the leading research centers that conducts research in molecular biology, genetics, genetic and cell engineering, biomedicine, biotechnology, immunology, ethno- and paleogenomics.

We invite young scientists (up to 40 years old) to take part in the International scientific conference of young scientists «Fundamental and applied research in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology» dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the founding of the M.A. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, which will be held in Almaty on the 17^th of November 2023.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss relevant issues and opportunities in the field of molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, biotechnology, immunology and the development of international cooperation.

The arrangement fee for full-time participation in the conference is 10 000 KZT, (includes cost of proceedings, set of conference materials, certificate of participation and official conference badge, refreshments). Part-time (online) participation is free, proceedings not sent.

POSTER REQUIREMENTS:

Poster size is A0 format, 841mm wide x 1189mm high. Orientation portrait (vertical). The upper part of the poster is reserved for the title and an indication of all authors and their place of work. Text, illustrations, graphics, diagrams are printed using Helvetica or Times New Roman fonts. The list of references should be as compact as possible and include sources in the order in which they are cited. References should be indicated in the text in square brackets, indicating the serial number of the source in the list. Illustrations should be titled and numbered: Fig. 1, Photo. 1. etc. Each image should have a corresponding link in the text in parentheses: (Fig.1).

ABSTRACT REQUIREMENTS:

Abstracts should be sent in Word (.doc or .docx); Single spacing; type – Times New Roman, type size 12. The page border on all sides is 2 cm. Abstracts should include the title of the work in bold, the list of authors and information about the authors (place of work, address, e-mail). The name of the main author should be underlined. Text limit should not exceed 2500 characters without spaces. Text should be right justified and paragraph indented (by 1 cm).

Content of the abstracts should consist of following elements: introduction, methods, results and conclusions.

The abstract should be submitted in one of the three official languages of the conference, should not contain figures, tables, references.

When sending by e-mail as a file name, please use the following form: Abstract_Eldar_Akhmetov, including the first and last names of the first author in Latin.

Abstracts are published in the editorial office of the authors, without any correction. The authors are responsible for the content of the abstracts.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject abstracts of low quality and poor editorial content from inclusion in the conference program and proceedings of the conference.

Submitted materials are not returned.

Abstracts, drawn up in accordance with the requirements, as well as a copy of the document for payment of the registration fee should be sent to the e-mail address: info@imbb.org.kz. Indicate in the subject line of the letter CONFERENCE and the topic number (for example, “CONFERENCE 5” refers to the topic of «Biotechnology»).
