On September 1, in the conference hall, leading scientists and heads of laboratories of the M.A. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry listened to the speech of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with a traditional message to the people of Kazakhstan. In his message, the President outlined his vision of the country’s economic policy, which also touched upon the development of Kazakh science and its prospects.

President K.K. Tokaev:

“My election program contained an initiative to develop the Law “On Science and Technology Policy”. It is important that the draft law currently under preparation should reflect the logic of economic development precisely on the basis of science and innovation.

We need not declarative, but effective measures to support private initiatives to create innovative infrastructure – business incubators, commercialization centers, technology parks and design bureaus. Successful foreign experience should be used.

Venture financing should become the main source of launching innovative projects. Therefore, it is necessary to resolve all legal and financial issues in order to increase interest in projects from domestic and foreign investors.”

At the end of the live broadcast of the message of the President, the head of the M.A.Aitkhiozhin IMBB Kamalidin Sharipov summarized that significant changes have recently taken place in science that will improve the material and technical base of scientific institutions, as well as create appropriate working conditions for scientists. We, in turn, need to increase the effectiveness of scientific research and increase their contribution to the development of the country’s knowledge-intensive economy.
