At the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry named after M.A. Aitkhozhin, an extended meeting of the Academic Council took place with the participation of an invited guest, Murat Kalievich Saparbaev.

On October 26, 2023, an extended meeting of the Academic Council with the participation of an invited guest – Murat Kalievich Saparbaev, visiting professor of the S.D.Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, specialist in molecular biology and genetics, head of the DNA repair group, Gustave Rosey Institute (France), member of the National Council for Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the M.A.Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.

Scientists of the IMBB had the opportunity to ask Professor Saparbayev questions they were interested in and receive comprehensive answers. In addition, this is a great opportunity to expand scientific connections and build collaborations that can lead to new scientific ideas and research.

The Academic Council had received final and interim reports on research work within the framework of grant funding for 2021-2023, grant funding for 2022-2024, grant funding for young scientists for 2022-2024. Presentations on the reports were made by: PhD Galiakparov N.N., leading researcher of the laboratory of biotechnology and molecular genetics, PhD Ostapchuk E.O., leading researcher of the laboratory of immunology and immunobiotechnology, PhD Zhigailov A.V., head of the laboratory of protein and nucleic acids, PhD Perfilyeva Y.V., leading researcher at the laboratory of immunology and immunobiotechnology, Ashirbekov E.E., acting Head of the Laboratory of Structural and Functional Genomics.

Also at the meeting, Deputy General Director of the IMBB Ismagulova G.A. reported on the progress of preparatory work for the international conference of young scientists “Fundamental and applied research in the field of molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology”, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the M.A.Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
