Scientific seminar: “Software for managing a biobank of data”

On December 7, 2023, a scientific seminar was held at M. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry on the topic: “Software for managing a biodata bank.” Employees of the genome laboratory and the laboratory of protein and nucleic acids of the IMBB took part in the seminar.

Alexey Seredkin, a representative of the “Lakopa” company (the official distributor of the software), in his report outlined in detail the advantages of the “Arctics” program as a sample management system. The program automates the storage and control of samples through the use of barcode technology on tubes. This program contains a large number of metrics and allows you to enter data in text, numeric and multi-line formats with reference to dates.

The software facilitates the generation of reports, controls the number of aliquots of the studied samples, their location and storage time, and makes it possible to compare analysis data on similar samples.

In addition, the “Arctics” program has a high level of data protection.
