Nurshat Abdolla graduated from the biology faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2012. The title of his Ph.D. thesis was: “The study of MDSC in various models of chronic inflammation”. In 2020 he was awarded a Ph.D. majoring in «6D060700 – Biology».

He completed grant internship and trainings at the UICC (The Union for International Cancer Control) at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, USA); at the RECETOX Center for Research on Toxic Compounds in the Environment (Brno, Czech Republic); at the Wistar Institute (Philadelphia, USA) as part of the academic mobility program.

Abdolla Nurshat has been working in the Laboratory of molecular immunology and immunobiotechnology of M.A. Aitkhozhin Institute of molecular biology and biotechnology since 2009 as a laboratory assistant, junior researcher, researcher, senior researcher, and since 2023 he has been appointed Acting head of thе Laboratory of IMBB.

Abdolla Nurshat was a responsible executor of the project “Effect of the elimination of myeloid suppressor cells by cytotoxic conjugates of alpha-fetoprotein immunity and tumor growth in the experiment” (2013-2015). Tleulieva Raikhan Tleulievna

Raykhan Tleuliyeva graduated from the biology faculty of C.M. Kirov Kazakh State University in 1975. In 1995 she successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis: “Study of the immunobiological properties of staphylococcal enterotoxin A (SEA) and obtaining monoclonal antibodies to it” in the specialty “Allergology and Immunology”. The main direction of her scientific research related with the production of monoclonal antibodies using hybridoma technology and the development of diagnostic ELISA test systems. As a result, it was obtained monoclonal antibodies to important staphylococcal toxins and diagnostic test systems based on them have been created. She received 2 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan for hybridomas producing antibodies to staphylococcal enterotoxin A and staphylococcal alpha-toxin.

In 2007, she was a winner of the 4th Republican competition of achievements in the field of invention “Shapagat-2007” in the nomination “Invention of the Year” for the invention “The strain of hybrid cultivated animal cells MUS.MUSCULUS-SAT-D3 – a producer of monoclonal antibodies to staphylococcal alpha-toxin (CAT)”. She is a Supervisor of the AP05131710 “Pharmacological approaches to the correction of myeloid suppressor cells (MDSC) to suppress chronic inflammation as a tumor growth stimulator in the experiment” project.

She has more than 70 publications, 13 of them have a non-zero impact factor, the h-index according to Web of Science and Scopus is 2.

Perfilyeva Yulia Viktorovna

Ph.D. in biology

Ylia Perfilyeva graduated from the biology faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University in 2006. Her Ph.D. thesis: “Comparative characteristics of human natural killer cells in normal and lung cancer” was defended before the dissertation council at the Research Institute of Clinical Immunology (Novosibirsk) in 2012.

In 2009, she completed a two-month internship in immunological methods in oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute (USA). /Biology/. In 2012 completed an internship in working on a flow cytometer at the Immunology Department of Istanbul University, Institute of Experimental Medicine.

In 2017, she received an award as a young talented scientist from the “Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy”. In 2021, she became the owner of the state award-medal Halyk algysy on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for her contribution to the development of domestic science.

She has more than 50 publications, 16 of them were published in journals with a non-zero impact factor, an h-index of 5.

Ostapchuk Ekaterina Olegovna

Ekaterina Ostapchuk graduated from al-Farabi Kazakh National University with a specialization in Biotechnology (2011). In 2015 she successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis “Functional and phenotypic features of NK- and T-regulatory cells in breast cancer”, before the dissertation council at al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She was a Supervisor of the AP05131691 “Molecular mechanisms of the influence of T-regulatory cells on the activity of tumor cells” project.

Between 2012 and 2015 she completed an internship at the laboratory of Istanbul University’s Institute of Experimental Medicine, where she learned some new immunological methods. Ekaterina Ostapchuk constantly improves her skills by participating in national, regional and international conferences, internships and seminars.

In 2017, Ekaterina Ostapchuk became a winner of the competition from the “Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy”, In 2018 she received a state scientific scholarship for talented young scientists, awarded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2021, she was awarded the state medal “Halyk algysy” on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a certificate of honor from the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan – A. Aimagambetov for her contribution to the development of domestic science.

She has more than 50 publications, 18 of them were published in journals with a non-zero impact factor according to Web of Science and Scopus, an h-index of 7.

Kali Aikyn

MSc in life sciences

Senior researcher

Aikyn Kali graduated from the biology faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2010 he completed his MA at National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan), with a specialization in life sciences, where he studied the role of PDPK FA/GSK-3α, one of the most important molecules of transduction signaling pathways in various types of cancer, using tumor samples received from a person.

Between 2017 and 2018 he learned about 3d cell culture methods at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA.

He has been working at the Laboratory of molecular immunology and immunobiotechnology since 2013, studies cancer stem cells (CSC) using MiaPaCa-2 as a model, established the role of TGF-β and TNF-α in expanding the CSC pool.

Kali Aikyn was the responsible executor of two projects “Molecular mechanisms of the negative impact of cancer stem cells (CSC) on NK-cell cytotoxicity” (2015-2017) and APO9562010 “Activity of NF-kB signals in myeloid suppressor cells generated from bone marrow cells under physiological and pathological conditions” (2021). Kan Sofia Alexandrovna

Sofia Kan graduated from the biology faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She graduated with honors in 2022 with a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology, she successfully defended her master’s thesis on the subject of: “Studying the effect of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus antigens on the activity of human T-regulatory cells”.

In April 2022 she did an internship at the stem cell laboratory of the National Center for Biotechnology (Astana), where she learned some new immunological methods. She has one (1) publication at the Kazakh-Russian Medical University Journal of the Actual Problems of Theoretical and Clinical Medicine on the theme of “Activity disorder of some T-cell subpopulations in severe COVID-19”.
