Open seminar on Digital PCR

On October 26, an open seminar on the topic: «Fundamentals of digital PCR and its areas of application» was held at the M.A. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.

The seminar speaker, senior customer support specialist at QIAGEN, Alina Korovkina, gave a presentation on modern technological solutions and equipment from QIAGEN, in particular, nanoplate-based digital PCR, which allows for unique research to detect rare mutations, pathogens, GMOs, and microbiota analysis, analysis of gene expression, microRNA, validation of next-generation sequencing methods, etc.

The seminar provided information on the advantages of digital PCR in comparison with traditional PCR and real-time PCR, as well as examples of its use for various scientific and practical purposes.

Digital PCR is nanoplate-based and has the potential to replace traditional real-time PCR as the preferred method for high-throughput quantitation of target nucleic acids.

QIAGEN is one of the world leaders in the production of kits for ultra-pure DNA and RNA extraction and single nucleotide polymorphism screening.

The organizers of the seminar are the Advena company and the M.A.Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.
