HONORING THE VETERANS OF M.A. AITKHOZHIN INSTITUTE OF MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND BIOCHEMISTRY

As part of the celebration of Nauryz and the Day of Scientists, on April 29, 2025, M.A. Aitkhozhin Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry honored the veterans of science.

Honoring the veterans of the institute has become a traditional event that provides an opportunity to express deep recognition of their knowledge, scientific achievements and experience, which they passed on to new generations of scientists.

In his opening remarks, Director General K.O. Sharipov noted the achievements of the institute and emphasized that in the instructions of the Head of State K. Tokayev and the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Science and Technological Policy” adopted in 2024, a significant role is given to applied research related to solving key problems of the economy and commercialization of science. At the fourth meeting of the National Kurultai, it was also noted that bringing the agro-industrial complex to a qualitatively new level is one of the priority areas for the development of the country’s economy. In accordance with these large-scale goals, the Institute is currently implementing scientific and technical programs for 2023-2025 and 2024-2026 and has developed two applied programs for 2025-2027 and 2026-2028, the main objectives of which are aimed at the development of domestic biotechnology and import substitution.

He also expressed words of gratitude to the veterans of the Institute for their contribution to the development of science and education in the country, and the upbringing of the younger generation.

The guests of honor – Director of the Institute of Geography and Water Security, Academician A.R. Medeu, Rector of the Kazakh-Russian Medical University Professor N.T. Dzhainakbayev, Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University A.T. Ivaschenko, veterans and employees of the Institute in support of the environmental initiative of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev “Taza Kazakhstan” planted trees and flowers.
